I've played hockey my entire life and have always been a die hard Rangers fan. Now that I'm done chasing the dream, I play in a few beer leagues but it just isn't the same as the glory days. I started this blog a little over a year ago and it has since evolved into something I really enjoy. Do I one day aspire to be a professional sports writer? Possibly. My dream job is being a general manager of a professional hockey team. My mood is hopelessly attached to whether the Rangers win or lose on a given night. Nik Antropov Begins Contract Discussions With Rangers

The Rangers and Nik Antropov are having some preliminary discussions as they would like to re-sign the 29 yr old sniper, but in reality there is very little the Rangers can do unless they move some bodies. I’m told Antropov is seeking a 4-5 yr. deal worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $4-5 million per season

If this is actually the case (Strickland has been a good source in the past) then I can't say I'd definitely want Antropov back. The Rangers can't afford to spend big money on a low impact player. Antropov played great down the stretch for the Rangers, but his biggest knock while he was in Toronto was that he would take nights off. Sound familiar? Although Antropov is the big scoring winger the Rangers need, he is not a sure thing and dropping $20 million plus on him might be a mistake. The Rangers might be better suited to sign Mike Knuble to save cap space. Not an ideal situation, but that is a result of severe mismanagement.
