About TMR

I've played hockey my entire life and have always been a die hard Rangers fan. Now that I'm done chasing the dream, I play in a few beer leagues but it just isn't the same as the glory days. I started this blog a little over a year ago and it has since evolved into something I really enjoy. Do I one day aspire to be a professional sports writer? Possibly. My dream job is being a general manager of a professional hockey team. My mood is hopelessly attached to whether the Rangers win or lose on a given night. I despise Sidney Crosby, loathe Martin Brodeur, and think Ricky Dipietro uses more hair products than any man should ever use. My name is Ryan McFadden and I am the editor of The Manic Ranger blog. Be sure to comment whether you like what I have to say or not. I can be reached by e-mail at tmrangerblog (at) gmail.com

Sands writes "Reports from an underground source are coming out tonight in New York that the New York Rangers have acquired Dany Heatley.

Rangers reportedly have dealt Rozival, Zherdev, Defensive prospect Cory Potter, a 1st and 5th Round pick in exchange for Dany Heatley.

I have NOT been able to confirm this deal as of yet. And with what the Rangers gave up for Healtey I would not be surprised if these where False reports. But It is a report non the less. And I figured it should be shared.

I probably shouldn't have posted this, but i received a comment a few days ago on one of my Heatley posts that outlined this deal. Not that that gives it any credence to the rumor but I found it very interesting. It is nothing more than a rumor right now and should be treated as one. Until something is confirmed, it's a step above Eklund.

If this rumor is true, WOW...

More to come when it becomes available. For now, take this for what it is.. a RUMOR.

IMO there's no way that is a legit trade.

I haven't checked out the source's site yet because it's not loading but to me it sounds like a bunch of BS. That's a lot even for Heatley (maybe w/out the 1st rd pick).

I don't really think it's alot, Corey Potter doesn't really have that much of a future with the Rangers after they've signed Gilroy. A 1st round pick would have to be included for him. The only problem is that a trade for him leaves two holes in the lineup, but they can be filled.

Hey - if Ottawa wants to trade him that badly, like you've said before they don't have much leverage. I don't know w/ the package you mentioned if the 1st round pick would have to be included. It depends on what other teams are offering. Some are really questioning whether they want Heatley on their team because he's starting to become a "cancer", which makes me wonder if it's a good thing for the Rangers. I'd make the trade in a heartbeat if it was Redden instead of Rozsival.

Either way, it just seems like a rumor that someone came up w/ to drum up their site's web traffic for the day (not referring to TMR, but the "source")

no team in the league wants redden. the only thing we can do as rangers fans is hope they can keep callahan, dubinsky, and most importantly staal.....and then hope that redden figures stuff out....isn't afraid to get hit, and has a solid season this year......which, believe it or not is a possibility
